Welcome to The French Voyage!

These Terms and Conditions ("T&Cs") govern your use of our French tutoring services and website. By booking a session, accessing our website, or utilizing any of our services, you agree to be bound by these T&Cs. Please read them carefully.

 

1. Introduction

The French Voyage provides online and/or in-person French language tutoring services. Our goal is to offer high-quality, personalized instruction to help you achieve your French language learning goals.

 

2. Services Offered

The French Voyage offers various French tutoring services, which may include, but are not limited to:

  • One-on-one private tutoring sessions

  • Small group tutoring sessions

  • Customized lesson plans

  • Conversation practice

  • Exam preparation (e.g., TEF )

  • Cultural insights

Specific details regarding session duration, content, and pricing are available on our website or will be communicated to you at the time of booking.

 

3. Booking and Payment

  • Booking: All tutoring sessions must be booked in advance through our designated booking system on our website.

  • Confirmation: A session is considered confirmed only after full payment has been received and you have received a confirmation email from us.

  • Pricing: Our current pricing for all services is listed on our website. Prices are subject to change without prior notice, but any changes will not affect sessions already booked and confirmed.

  • Payment: Payment for all sessions or packages must be made in full at the time of booking. We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, Venmo, and Cash.

  • Packages: If you purchase a package of sessions, all sessions within that package must be used within 3 months from the date of purchase, unless otherwise specified. Unused sessions after this period may be forfeited.

 

4. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

  • By the Student:

    • To cancel or reschedule a confirmed session, you must provide at least 24 hours' notice before the scheduled session time.

    • If you provide sufficient notice, your session can be rescheduled, or a credit for a future session will be issued.

    • Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 12 hours' notice will result in the forfeiture of the session fee, and no refund or credit will be issued.

    • "No-shows" (failure to attend a scheduled session without any prior notice) will also result in the forfeiture of the session fee.

  • By The French Voyage (Tutor):

    • In the rare event that a tutor needs to cancel or reschedule a session (due to illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances), we will provide you with as much notice as possible.

    • You will be offered the option to reschedule the session at a mutually convenient time or receive a full refund for that specific session.

    • The French Voyage is not responsible for any incidental expenses or losses incurred due to a tutor's cancellation.

 

5. Student Responsibilities

  • Attendance: Students are expected to arrive punctually for all scheduled sessions.

  • Preparation: Students are encouraged to review any materials provided in advance and come prepared with questions or topics for discussion.

  • Technical Requirements (for online sessions): Students are responsible for ensuring they have a stable internet connection, a working microphone, webcam, and the necessary software (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet) for online sessions. Technical issues on the student's end that disrupt or prevent a session may result in forfeiture of the session fee.

  • Conduct: Students are expected to maintain a respectful and professional demeanor during all interactions with tutors and staff. Any abusive, inappropriate, or disruptive behavior may result in immediate termination of services without refund.

 

6. Tutor Responsibilities

  • Professionalism: Tutors will conduct sessions in a professional and respectful manner.

  • Expertise: Tutors will possess the necessary language proficiency and teaching skills to deliver effective instruction.

  • Preparation: Tutors will prepare for sessions, tailor content to student needs, and provide constructive feedback.

  • Punctuality: Tutors will start and end sessions on time.

 

7. Intellectual Property

All materials provided by The French Voyage, including but not limited to lesson plans, handouts, exercises, and digital content, are the intellectual property of The French Voyage or its licensors. These materials are for your personal use only and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without our express written consent.

 

8. Confidentiality

Any personal information shared by the student with The French Voyage or its tutors will be treated with strict confidentiality, in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Tutors will also maintain confidentiality regarding the content of tutoring sessions, unless disclosure is required by law.

 

9. Limitation of Liability

The French Voyage and its tutors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodw8ill, use, data, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • The use or inability to use our services.

  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the service.

  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.

  • Any other matter relating to our services.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these T&Cs or our services shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the services in question.

 

10. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these T&Cs or our services shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably through direct negotiation between you and The French Voyage. If a resolution cannot be reached, the parties agree to consider mediation or, if necessary, legal action in the circuit court of Cook County.

 

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed per the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

 

12. Changes to Terms and Conditions

The French Voyage reserves the right to update or modify these T&Cs at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website with an updated "Effective Date." Your continued use of our services after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new T&Cs. We recommend reviewing this page periodically for any updates.
