Refund Policy

 

At The French Voyage, we are committed to providing high-quality French language instruction and a supportive learning environment. We understand that circumstances can change, and we aim to offer a clear and fair refund policy for our tutoring services. Please review the following terms carefully.

1. General Policy

  • All refund requests must be submitted in writing via email to info@thefrenchvoyage.com.

  • The effective date of your cancellation is the date we receive your written request.

  • Refunds will be processed to the original payment method used for the booking within 5-10 business days of approval. Please allow additional time for your bank or credit card company to post the refund to your account.

  • Any non-refundable fees (e.g., registration fees, material fees if applicable) will be clearly stated at the time of purchase and are not eligible for refund.

 

2. Cancellation by the Student

A. Individual Tutoring Sessions (Pay-Per-Session or from a Package):

  • More than 24 hours' notice: You may reschedule your session at no additional charge or receive a full refund for that specific session.

  • Less than 24 hours' notice: The session will be considered forfeited, and no refund or credit will be issued.

  • No-Show: If a student does not attend a scheduled session without prior notice, the session will be considered forfeited, and no refund or credit will be issued.

B. Course Packages / Bundles (e.g., 10-session package, Beginner French Course):

  • Prior to the start of the first session/course date:

  • Full refund

  • After the first session/course date, but before 25% of the total sessions/course content has been completed:

    • A pro-rata refund will be issued for the unused portion of the package/course. The value of used sessions will be calculated at their full, non-discounted individual session rate.

  • After 25% or more of the total sessions/course content has been completed:

    • No refund will be issued.

  • Expiration of Packages: All tutoring packages have an expiration date (3 months from purchase). Sessions not used by the expiration date will be forfeited and are non-refundable.

C. Trial Sessions:

  • Trial sessions are typically offered at a reduced rate or free of charge and are generally non-refundable.

Exceptions for Student Cancellation:

  • Documented Medical Emergency/Extenuating Circumstances: In the event of a serious, documented medical emergency or other unforeseen extenuating circumstances preventing continued participation, The French Voyage may, at its sole discretion, offer a credit for future services or a partial refund, minus any non-recoverable costs. This will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and requires appropriate documentation.

 

3. Cancellation by The French Voyage

  • Instructor Cancellation (Individual Session): If an instructor needs to cancel a scheduled session, we will offer to reschedule the session at a mutually convenient time. If rescheduling is not possible, you will receive a full refund or credit for that specific session.

  • Course/Package Cancellation (Due to Low Enrollment or Unforeseen Circumstances): While rare, if The French Voyage needs to cancel a course or package due to insufficient enrollment or unforeseen operational issues, you will be offered:

    • A full refund of all payments made for that specific course/package.

    • The option to transfer your enrollment to another available course or equivalent credit for other services.

    • The French Voyage is not responsible for any incidental expenses incurred by the student (e.g., purchase of personal materials not provided by us).

 

4. Rescheduling Policy

  • Individual Sessions: As noted above, individual sessions can be rescheduled with more than 24 hours' notice. Rescheduling requests must be made directly with your instructor or through our booking system.

  • Course Packages: Rescheduling individual sessions within a package follows the same 24-hour notice rule. Full course packages or bundles cannot be "paused" or "rescheduled" once the first session has commenced, except under documented extenuating circumstances as per section 2.

 

5. Material Fees:

  • If a course or package includes a separate, non-refundable material fee, this fee is typically for digital or physical resources provided upon enrollment and is not refundable once access or materials have been granted/shipped.

 

6. Force Majeure

  • The French Voyage will not be liable for any failure or delay in providing services due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government regulations, natural disasters, epidemics, pandemics, widespread internet outages, or transportation failures. In such events, The French Voyage will assess the situation and determine the appropriate course of action, which may include offering credits for future services or partial refunds, after accounting for non-recoverable costs.
